Assoc.Prof.Ong Kong Wee MD.PhD specializes in General Surgery, Breast Cancer and Breast Diseases. He is the founder and former Head of the Breast Center at SingHealth, the largest breast center in Singapore, affiliated with Singapore General Hospital (SGH), KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) and the National Cancer Center Singapore (NCCS)

Dr.Ong receives and treats numerous patients with both benign and malignant breast conditions using optimal and advancd treatment methods such as minimally invasive breast surgery, VABB, sentinel lymph node biopsy, intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT), breast-conserving surgery, mastectomy and breast reconstruction.

·       August 2018 – Present: Medical Director at the Concord International Hospital

·       August 2018 – Present: Medical Director at the K W Ong’s Breast and General Surgery Clinic

·       July 2014 – August 2018: Founder, Head of Department & Senior Consultant – SingHealth’s Breast Centre 

·      November 2012 – Present: Senior Breast Oncology Specialist – National Cancer Center Singapore 

·       November 2009 – Present: Senior General Surgery Specialist – Singapore General Hospital

MEMBER OF PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS:

  • Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeonss, Edinburgh, UK
  • Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore 
  • Dr.Ong graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1997, he was always in the Dean’s list – the top list for the most honorable students and received a scholarship every year.
  • In 2003, he completed his PhD in Immunology at the Bristol University (England). 
  • In 2009, he received a special Recognition Award for Customer Service Excellence at the Singapore Experience Awards
  • In 2012, he was appointed as Medical Director at SingHealth, he is also an Associate Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and Duke-NUS Medical School
  • In 2014: He was honored as an Outstanding Lecturer. He has published numerous breast cancer research papers in journals such as Nature Genetics, Lancet Oncology and Clinical Cancer Research.
